The Ionia Standard, Friday, March 27, 1896

Mrs. Mary L., beloved wife of G.A. Root, Ionia township, died on Sunday 
morning, at eight o’clock, after a lingering illness, during which she endured 
much suffering.  She passed away at the untimely age of 36.  The funeral was 
attended from the Church of Christ, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
