The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, October 31, 1938

Funeral services were conducted from the home Saturday afternoon, October 29, 
for George Delbert Root, of Ann Arbor, who died at his home there Tuesday 
evening, October 25 at the age of 82.  Interment was in Highland Park cemetery 
at Ann Arbor, where the Rev. A. C. DeVries officiated.

He is survived by his wife and five sons, Jesse G. Root, of 657 North 
Jefferson street, Ionia, and Frank W. Root, of 327 Center street Ionia; 
Delbert Root, George Root and Corrland Root, of Ann Arbor, and daughter, Mrs. 
Leonard McGee, of Ann Arbor.

Mr. Root had been a resident of Ann Arbor 25 years, and was a former Ionian.
