The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, March 7, 1928

The remains of Albom F. Root, a former resident of Ionia who succumbed at the 
Traverse City hospital Tuesday morning following a year’s illness, were 
brought here Wednesday.  Funeral services will be conducted at the home of 
Mrs. Edward Root on Steele hill, north of the city, Thursday afternoon at 2 
o’clock fast time, with burial to be made in Highland Park cemetery.

Mr. Root, who was 74 years of age, was born in Jackson county, but had spent 
considerable of his years in and near Ionia.  For about nine years he was in 
the upper peninsula, later going west, where he resided for about 10 years.  
During the latter period his wife died, in 1910, at Bellingham, Wash.

Surviving are his sister, Mrs. Ella Holcomb, of Vickeryville, and a brother, 
G. A. Root, of Albion.  Mrs. Edward Root, of Ionia township, is a sister-in-
law.
