Ionia Daily Sentinel, 7 Nov 1912

James M. Root, for many years a resident of Ionia, died last night at 8:30 at
the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ida Root-Hall, on Hackett street, where he has
been living.  Mr. Root was 92 years of age and pioneer of the city.  The funeral
will be attended Sunday afternoon at 2:30 from the residence.  Please omit flowers.

[Transcriber's Note:  There is a notation on the obituary card that he was
buried in Oak Hill Cemetery.]
