MRS. JOSEPHINE ROOT DIED THURSDAY
Mrs. Josephine Root 85 passed away Thursday night at her home after a long illness.
The daughter of early settlers, Hugh and Alma Potts, she had spent most of her life in
this area. 

She lived in Grand Rapids about 12 years returning here about eight years ago when
she purchased her present home.

Her husband Alfred passed away about 20 years ago and her daughter Iva 13 years
ago.

Surviving are two sisters Mrs. Edna Walsh of Grand Ledge and Mrs. Mary Scheidt of 
Kutztown, PA., several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel with burial in
Lakeside cemetery. Rev. A.J. Pitman officiating.
