Lake Odessa Times- Wednesday June 17, 1903

                                OBITUARY

After a long illness, Henry S.Root of Odessa passed away last Friday, and was 
buried from the u.B. church last Sunday afternoon, Rev. L.A. Durler officiating.

He was born in York township, Sandusky county, Ohio, May 11, 1837. In 1849 he 
with his parent moved to Rome, Lenawee county,Mich. In 1861 he was united in 
marriage with Elizabeth Hutchins, who preceded him to the spirt world some 
sixteen months since.

He moved with his family to Odessa township in 1865, where he has resided over 
since. To them were born three sons, Austin and Alfred Root of Odessa and 
Charles of Wise, Isabella county.

He was converted in 1876 and united with the United Brethren church and has been 
a faithful Christian ever since, leaving a bright evidence that he was at peace 
with God.

He leaves an aged mother, one brother and sister, and three sons, together with 
a host of friends, to mourn their loss.
