The Ionia Standard, Friday, March 10, 1905
Clarissa, wife of J. N. Root, died Friday night at age of 83.  She suffered  a 
stroke of paralysis a week ago, from which she did not rally.  She had been a 
resident of Ionia county over 45 years, and of Michigan over 55 years.  
Besides the husband, four children survive: Edwin R., of Ionia township; Ella 
A., wife of A. J. Holcomb, of Butternut, Montcalm county; Albon T., of State 
of Washington; George A., of Ontonagan county.  Funeral at family residence, 
No. Jefferson street, at 10 a.m. Monday.
