Ionia Sentinel Standard, 5 Feb 1980

Laurel G. Rose, 84, of Saranac, died Monday at the Belding Christian Nursing 
Home.  She was born in Clair County, on Feb. 20, 1895 to parents Orin and 
Carrie Smith-Green.  In March of 1914, she married Sheldon A. Rose in Saranac.  
A member of the South Boston Bible Church, she was a life long resident of 
Saranac.

Her husband preceded her in death, in 1976.  She is survived by two sons, Wayne 
and Forrest Rose both of Saranac; one daughter, Arlene Breimeyer of Belding; 
and two sisters, Mrs. Fern VanHoozer of California and Mrs. Wreatha Johnson of 
Grand Rapids; ten grandchildren, forty-eight great-grandchildren, and four 
great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac with 
Reverend Earl Cross officiating.  Burial will be in the Saranac Cemetery.  The 
family will be receiving guests from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
