Wayne S. Rose, aged 94, of Saranac, passed away Jan. 8, 2010 at Laurels of Kent 
in Lowell.

He was born June 11, 1915 in Saranac. He married Margaret L. Stuart. She 
preceded him in death in 1962. Wayne then went on to marry Karen M. Nelsen. She 
preceded him in death in 1996. Wayne was very active in his community. He was a 
member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Boston-Saranac Historical Society, The 
American Legion and served on the Saranac Housing Commission from July 1992 
until May 5, 2005. He was a veteran of WWII for the Horse Cavalry division. 
Wayne worked as a Rural Mail Carrier for 30 years in Clarksville.

Wayne is survived by sons, James (Beth) Rose and Carl (Halla) Geiger; 
daughters, Alice Marie (Wesley Hackett) Geiger, Pauline (Pete) Hartman, Phyllis 
(Thomas) Pickens, Mary (Erich) Seida and Norma Rose; brother, Forest Rose and 
several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and 
great-great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Stuart Wayne Rose and sister, Arlene 
Breimayer.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Good 
Shepherd Lutheran Church located at 10305 Bluewater Highway. Interment Saranac 
Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Monday 2-4 p.m. and 7-
8:30 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. In lieu of flowers you may make 
memorial contributions to the Boston-Saranac Historical Society. Online
