Rose, 76, of Saranac died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 1996 at her home. She was born Jan. 11, 1920 in Denmark. She came to America when she was four years old and was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ionia. She is survived by her husband: Wayne Rose of Saranac; sons: Carl H. (Halla) Geiger of St. Johns, Stuart W. (Norma) Rose of Saranac, and James A. (Beth) Rose of Kalamazoo; daughters: Alice Marie Geiger of Saranac, Pauline (Dennis) Hartman of Illinois, Mary E. (Erich) Seida of DeWitt, and Phyllis (Tom) Pickens of Clarksville; 33 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. at the St. John’s Lutheran Church with Rev. William Wagner officiating. Interment will be in Saranac Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or Ionia Hospice.
