He was drawing gravel on the dugway hill near Saranac and being somewhat cold from riding said that he would shovel a while. He had not taken but a few shovels full when a large chunk fell from the top and caught him throwing him against the wagons and killing him instantly. He leaves besides a wife and two children, a mother and a host of friends. The family have the sympathy of the entire community. The funeral was held at the Saranac M.E. church Friday at 1 o’clock, the K.O.T.M. and the L.O.T.M. attending in a body, they being largely represented. North Keene – A sad accident occurred last week Wednesday. While Burt Rose was hauling gravel, the cave gave away and about 10 tons of gravel fell, killing him instantly. He leaves an aged mother, a wife and three small children to mourn his sad loss.
