Karl Rosecrance, 61, was found dead at his home at 826 West Main street by his 
wife Wednesday, January 27, at 4 p.m. on her return from work.  He had been 
dead, according to his physician, since around noon.  Death was due to a 
cardiac failure.  He was in his bedroom preparing to dress to go to work at 
the Ionia State Hospital where he had been employed for the past 23 years.  
Mr. Rosecrance was born in North Shade township, Gratiot county, January 11, 
1893, son of Jay and Maud Rosecrance.  He was married to Gladys Graves in 
Ionia September 1, 1917, and they lived the greater part of their lives in 
Ionia.  He was a member of the First Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Paul Stewart Jr., of Detroit 
and Mrs. Glenn Denny of Ionia; one son, Dale of Ionia; two brothers, Jackson 
Levi of Detroit and Paul of Carson City; one sister, Mrs. Gay Wilbur of 
Jackson, and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Boynton funeral home Saturday at 2 
p.m.  The Rev. Heath Goodwin will officiate.  The family will be at the 
funeral home Thursday and Friday evenings 7-9 p.m. to receive friends.

Funeral services for Karl Rosecrance who died Wednesday were held from the 
Boynton funeral home Saturday, January 30, at 2 p.m.  The Rev. Heath Goodwin 
officiated.  Temporary interment was in Highland Park cemetery.  The bearers 
were Seldon Conner, Hector Gee, Roy Kendall, Roy Weber, P.J. O’Connor and 
Stanley Warren.

Relatives attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Paul 
Stewart Jr., Mrs. Ralph Williams, Mrs. Louise Rummer of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. 
Gay Wilbur of Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Graves, Mrs. Frank Blanchard of 
Grand Ledge; Mrs. D. A. Squire, Mrs. Howard Wheeler of Wayne; Mrs. Beulah 
Ackerson, Richard Ackerson, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lee of Pontiac; Mr. and Mrs. 
Paul Rosecrance, Mr. and Mrs. William Brannon, Mrs. Mary Gager, Miss Dorothy 
Brannon of Carson City; Mrs. Archie Youngs of Sheridan; Mrs. William Rummer of 
Mt. Pleasant; Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Rummer, Mrs. Leona Betz of Ithaca; Mr. and 
Mrs. William Brannon Jr. of Perry; Mrs. Keith Marcy of Riverdale; Mr. and Mrs. 
Clyde Markham, Mrs. Archie Denny of Saranac; the Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice 
Horn, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dub and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Croel of Lyons.
