                            Farmer, 58, Is Killed In Accident
Losing control of his car, Dwight Rosenberger, 58 year old Clarksville route 1 
farmer, was fatally injured and his 14 year old son seriously hurt when their car 
smashed headon into a large tree.

The fatal accident, which brought the county's total to 11 for the year, occurred at

2:15 p.m. Wednesday, on M-50, three miles west of Lake Odessa.

Deputy Sheriff, Clarence Aldrich of Lake Odessa said Rosenberger was enroute east on

M-50 apparently driving to Lake Odessa when the accident took place. He said it was

impossible to question Rosenberger's 14 year old son, Lloyd, who was riding with his

father.

He was in Pennock hospital at Hastings with severe facial cuts, lost teeth and 
possible hip or femur fracture. Rosenberger died in the hospital at 4 p.m.

                                 Car Demolished
The car was demolished, Sheriff Ben Neve of Ionia and Aldrich investigated. 
Rosenberger died of a skull fracture and crushed chest.  Aldrich said a Barry county

coroner investigated the death at Pennock hospital. The body was removed to the 
Beattie Funeral home in Clarksville.

Rosenberger was born Feb. 19, 1895, near Clarksville on the farm where he lived his

entire life. He was the son of Henry and Jenny Trowbridge Rosenberger.

Surviving are his wife, Leona, five sons Elwyn and Gordon of near Clarksville, and 
Lloyd, Lyle and Glen at home; two daughters, Mrs. Kendall Parritt of Alto and Lynn,

who is now at home after teaching in the Battle Creek schools for the past year; 
five grandchildren, and a sister, Grace of Clarksville.
