Mrs. Rosevelt was one of the old time residents of this city and until a few years ago had always enjoyed good health. About a year ago her health failed so rapidly that it was thought best to remove her to the city hospital where she has since received the best of care and treatment. Mrs. Rosevelt was of a genial, kindly, light hearted disposition and was greatly loved by a multitude of friends in every community where she was acquainted. Funeral services were held in the Central Methodist church at 1 o’clock in the afternoon, Sunday, conducted by Rev. W. E. Doty, and burial was made in the old Belding cemetery by the side of her husband. Delia A. Rosevelt was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Gravelle, old pioneers, being one of a family of eight children. She was born in Ontario county, N.Y., Aug. 16, 1847, coming to Michigan at the age of six. The family located near Greenville, where, June 30, 1855, she was united in marriage to George S. Rosevelt whose death preceded hers by fifteen years. The family came to Belding twenty-nine years ago. Mr. Rosevelt served for years as city attorney. She is survived by three children Jennie E. of St. Louis, Mo., Pearl, of Cedar Springs, Mich., and Claude of Chicago, Ill, two sisters, Mrs. Ella Crosby of Belding and Mrs. Mary Angevine of Richmond, Virginia, and two brothers, A. L. Gravelle of British Honduras, Central America, and J. F. Gravelle of Fargo, North Dakota.
