Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2002

Virginia Marie Ross, 77, passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, in Lansing.  She 
was born Virginia Marie Gamache on Dec. 28, 1924, in Kingsford, the daughter of 
Edmund and Ida (Raiche) Gamache.  She resided in Ionia for many years, and 
worked for the Ionia Free Fair and the Michigan Department of Corrections.  
After moving to Zephyrhills, Fla., in 1980, she traveled extensively, and 
enjoyed community activities.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Valeda Frank and Florence Beauchamp; 
and a daughter-in-law, Isabel Gray.

She is survived by her children, Terry J. Gray, Todd E. Gray, and Shaun Marie 
(Douglas) Trumble; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many 
nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place.  A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at 
Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3815 S. Cedar St., Lansing.  In lieu 
of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Ionia County Humane 
Society, 3256 S. State Rd., Ionia, MI 48846, where she adopted her dear friend 
and companion cat, Sweet Pea.
