Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, December 21, 1998

David C. Ross, Sr., 82, of Belding, passed away Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998, at his 
residence.  He was born Sept. 14, 1916, in Greenville, Ohio, to Walter and 
Helen Mills Ross.  He graduated from McConnelsville Ohio High School with the 
class of 1934.  He retired in 1982 from Belding Tool and Machine Shop as a tool 
and die maker for more than 30 years.  He was a member of West Milton Ohio F&AM 
Lodge and became a lifelong member of Belding F&AM Lodge #335.  He was a member 
of Friends Church in Ludlow Falls, Ohio.  He was a past member of the Michigan 
Bee Keepers Association and the National Rifle Association (NRA).  He was 
married Oct. 10, 1936, in McConnelsville to Louise Crawford and she survives 
with their children, Helen and Richard Mahynski of Saranac, Joyce and Dr. G. 
Jay Rottman of Ada, and Russell and Betty, David Jr. and Wanda Ross, all of 
Belding.  He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 
two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor 
Kenneth Harger officiating.  Interment will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens.  
Visitation is Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Memorials may be made to Ionia Area Hospice or the Ionia County Commission on 
Aging.
