Dye, at 628 Hackett street, Thursday, February 13, at 8 p.m. She was born January 18, 1860, at Ogdensburg, New York, the daughter of Joel and Lucy Palmer. She came to Michigan with her parents, when she was six years old. She was the last surviving member of a family of six. December 1878, she married Richard Ross who at that time was a millright in the lumber mills at Trufant. In 1887 they came to Ionia to live, and Mr. Ross was master bridge builder here for the D. L. and M. Railroad. To this union were born three children, Mrs. George H. Dye, Mrs. Glenn D. Mathews, and Major Charles A. Ross, the latter two having preceded her in death. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Mrs. Theodore Kalkuka of Manila, Philippine Islands; Mrs. Thomas Keller of Charleston, West Virginia, and Richard Mathews, and three great grandchildren. She was a charter member of the Lady Maccabees and at one time was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the home of the late Mrs. Mathews, 260 East Main street. The body will repose at the Boynton funeral home on Rich street until time for the services. Rev. Paul L. Stewart will officiate and interment will be held at Highland Park cemetery.
