Ionia Sentinel Standard, 29 Sep 1971

Mrs. Catherine A. Ross, 86, a 517 East Main, died Wednesday morning at Ionia
County Memorial hospital.  She was born November 4, 1884, at Wapakoneta, Ohio,
and two years later the family moved to Fresno, California.  In 1890 she came to
Michigan to live with an aunt, the late Mrs. J.E. Culbertson of Muir.

She was a graduate of Muir high school in 1903 and the same year married Lester
V. Ross, who died June 24, 1963.  She was also preceded in death by a son,
Culbertson W. Ross September 16, 1967.

She was employed by Ionia Sentinel Standard as society editor for at last 15
years.  A member of the Ionia Garden club, she also belonged to Order of Eastern
Star of Lyons and member of First Presbyterian church in Ionia and taught in its
Sunday school department.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Myers-Roetman funeral home.  Rev.
Robert McComb will officiated and interment will be at Balcom cemetery.  A
Memorial has been established for First Presbyterian church.
