                              HERBERT W. ROSS, 98

BELDING - Herbert W. Ross, 98, 6201 Storey Rd., died Wednesday at his home after 
an illness of 15 months.

Mr.Ross was born Aug 22, 1878 in Muir. His family moved to a farm at 6201 Storey 
Rd, when he was 1 1/2 years old and he has lived there ever since. He was a 
retired farmer. He was Otisco Township Treasurer for six years, served on Cooks 
Corners School Board for 45 years and was a seventh degree member of the 
National Grange. On Dec. 21,1904 at Ionia he married Nellie Luscombe whom he had 
attended Cooks Corners School with. They had been married for 72 years.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter,Mrs.Earl (Loma) VanOcker, Belding, two 
nieces, Mrs.Lenna Scott, Citra, Fla.,and Mrs.Dorothy Quinn, Ocala, Fla..

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Huffman Funeral Home, Belding. 
Pastor Darwyn Hassert officiating. Interment will be in Otisco Cemetery.

Visitation at the funeral home will be tonight from 7 to 8:30 and Friday from 2 
to 4 and 7 to 8:30 pm.
