The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, January 19, 1948


Word has been received in Ionia by relatives of the death of Erastus Lawton 
Ross, 39, former Ionia post office worker, in Congress, Ariz., Wednesday, 
January 14.  Services were held Thursday with private cremation in Greenwood 
Memorial park.

Born and raised in Georgia, Mr. Ross lived in Ionia for many years.  While 
here he was employed by the state hospital and by the post office.  In 
September 1946, he and his wife move to Arizona for his health.

Surviving him are his wife, Martha J.; a daughter, Georgia Ann; a brother, 
Edwin T. Ross of Buchanan; three sisters, Mrs. M. E. Southard of Detroit, Mrs. 
Glenn Miller of Woodland, Ga., and Mrs. Harold Williams of Forsyth, Ga.

Attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Ray D. Robertson of Ionia who were 
present at the Ross home several days prior to his death.
