Marie Rossell, 84, of Ionia, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2001 at the 
Heartlands Health Care Center in Ionia.  She was born the daughter of Lem and 
Margaret (Ball) Slater on January 31, 1917 in Oakland City, Ind.  She married 
Neal Rossell in 1938 in Princeton, Ind.

Surviving is one daughter; Barb (David) Wickerham of Oscoda; sons Jack (Carol) 
Rossell of Ionia, John (Audrey) Rossell of Ionia; grandchildren Linda Wonnacott 
of Fowlerville, Rick (Diane) Wickerham of Carson City, Randy Wickerham of 
Florida, Michael (Kristi) Wickerham of Birch Run, Jack (Mindy) Rossell Jr. of 
Carson City, Timothy (Rene) Rossell of Sparta, Michael Rossell of Ionia, 
Melissa Rossell of Ionia; 13 great grandchildren and three great, great 
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal, in 1980; brothers, Silas and 
Pete Slater; sisters, Dolly Dorman, Alma Ylinen, and Thelma Dorman; and one 
granddaughter, Sheri Wickerham.

Graveside services for Marie will be held Monday, Oct. 1, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the 
Evergreen Cemetery in Sheridan with Pastor Kendall Harger officiating.  Cook 
Funeral Home, Ionia, has charge of the arrangements.
