Ionia Sentinel Standard, 16 Sep 1968

A lifelong Lake Odessa farmer, Gottlieb Roth, 77, of route 1, Lake Odessa died 
Saturday afternoon at Osteopathic hospital in Grand Rapids where he had been a 
patient the past two weeks.  He was born February 17, 1891 in Vergennes 
township, Kent county, the son of Gottlieb and Katherine Krops Roth.  February 
17, 1912 he was married to Pearl Hanson.

He was a member of the Hope church of Brethren, Clarksville Masonic lodge, 
South Boston grange and Ionia Pomona grange.

Survivors are his wife; one son, Clare of Lake Odessa; four daughters, Mrs. 
George Behensky of Lansing, Mrs. Irwin Harwood of Clarksville, Mrs. Raymond 
Light of Lansing, Mrs. Russell Hazel of Lake Odessa; 18 grandchildren, 28 great 
grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Fenton Neller of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; one 
brother, Dr. A.J. Roth of LaGrand, Ore.

Body will be at Pickens funeral chapel in Clarksville until time for funeral 
services Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Hope Church of Brethren.  Rev. Arthur Heisler 
and Rev. Bill Boswell will officiate and burial will be at Clarksville cemetery.
