He was born February 17, 1891 in Vergennes township, Kent county, the son of Gottlieb and Katherine Krops Roth. February 17, 1912 he was married to Pearl Hanson. He was a member of the Hope church of Brethren, Clarksville Masonic lodge, South Boston grange and Ionia Pomona grange. Survivors are his wife; one son, Clare of Lake Odessa; four daughters, Mrs. George Behensky of Lansing, Mrs. Irwin Harwood of Clarksville, Mrs. Raymond Light of Lansing, Mrs. Russell Hazel of Lake Odessa; 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Fenton Neller of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; one brother, Dr. A.J. Roth of LaGrand, Ore. Body will be at Pickens funeral chapel in Clarksville until time for funeral services Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Hope Church of Brethren. Rev. Arthur Heisler and Rev. Bill Boswell will officiate and burial will be at Clarksville cemetery.
