Roth, 82, of Ionia, passed away Feb. 24, 2010. He was born Dec. 19, 1927, the son of Gottlieb and Ila (Hansen) Roth. He married Peggy Feb. 25, 1995 in Portland. Clare served in the Army and later the Air Force during World War II and The Korean Conflict. He was a member of Lake Odessa VFW 4461 Post where he was a District Commander. Clare worked for the Michigan State Police Department as a radio technician for 15 years. He owned and operated a TV, radio and appliance repair business for over 40 years. Clare is survived by his loving wife Peggy Roth of Ionia; children Theodore and Amy Roth of Lake Odessa, Erika and Bill Vallace of Charlotte; step children Christopher and Amanda Ingraham of California and Tony Ingraham of Arizona; and five grandchildren; sisters Agnes Harwood of Clarksville, Jean and Russ Hazel of Lake Odessa, and Patty Light of Hastings. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Darwin and Don, and his parents. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Pastor Phillip Lightner officiating. Interment Clarksville Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A VFW memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
