Sentinel-Std. - Saturday, Oct. 28 & Wednesday, Nov. 1, 1978

IONIA- William Henry Rountree, 73, of 6470 Whitneyville Rd., Middleville, 
formerly of Lyons, died early Friday morning at the Lila-Post hospital in 
Battle Creek.

he was born March 31, 1905 in Ripley County, Missouri, the son of Mr. and Ms. 
George Rountree.

He married the former Juanieta Gee, January 23, 1930 and they lived in the 
Lyons area for 35 years. Ms. Rountree preceded him in death July 11, 1970.

Mr. Rountree was a member of the Moose and was a self-employed well driller.

survivors include eight sons, Allen of Hastings, Kenneth of Middleville, 
William of White Pigeon, James and Randy of  Battle Creek Robert of Sturgis, 
Syrel of Florida and Clement of Boston, Massachusetts; two daughters, Mrs. 
Connie Tucker of Sturgis and Mrs. Lorraine McKelvey of Hastings; two brothers, 
George Rountree of Ionia and James C. Rountree of Lansing; one sister, Mrs. 
Audrey Barnum of Flint; 35 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. 

Services are Monday at 2 pm from the Myers-Roetman funeral home with burial in 
Muir cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home Sunday 2 to 4 
and 7 to 9 pm.

Sentinel-Std. - Wednesday, Nov. 1, 1978

IONIA- Funeral services for William H. Rountree were Monday at the Meyer-
Roetman funeral home with Rev. Kenneth McCabe officiating. Burial was in the 
Muir cemetery.

Paul bearers were: Jack McKelvey, Jim Fenceitmaker, Norman Donkelburger, Bob 
Lumberg, Bob Conners and Gary McKelvey. 

Following graveside services a luncheon was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. 
George Rountree.
