Bobby (Gene) Roundtree, aged 74, of Muir, passed away on May 8, 2006.  He was 
born August 13, 1931 in Naylor, Missouri, the son of Thomas Luther and Ogie 
Maggie (Elliott) Roundtree.

He graduated from Lyons High School in 1949. He worked at Mitchell Bentley 
Corp. in Ionia. He then went on to own and operate Muir Drug Store for a few 
years. He was also employed by the Chrysler Corporation Trim Plant in Lyons as 
a labor union steward, retiring in 1988.

Bobby is survived by sisters, Alma Sprague of Ionia and Mildred Woolard of 
Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  He 
was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Thomas Virgil Roundtree, 
Cora Ann Hawkins, Arlie Paul “Bud” Roundtree, Pearl May Roundtree, Harry 
Junior Roundtree and Shirley Lavern Roundtree.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday at Lake Funeral Home in Muir 
with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. The family will receive friends and 
relatives from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
