Vera B. Rowland, 93, of St. Johns died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001.

Vera was born July 2, 1908 in Pierson Township, the daughter of William and 
Carrie (Reed) Huckleberry and lived all her life in Clinton and Ionia Counties.

She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in DeWitt.  Vera married Arthur 
Rowland in December of 1927 and he preceded her in death in November of 1965.

She is survived by one daughter, Arlene (Bud) Barnes of St. Johns; one son, Leo 
(Frances) Rowland of Ionia; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 10 
great, great-grandchildren; and three great, great, great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Vera was preceded in death by three brothers and 
three sisters.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Osgood Funeral Home.  Burial 
at Balcom Cemetery, Ionia, with Pastor Joseph Dedic officiating.  The family 
will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Heritage Baptist Church of DeWitt.
