She had been ill for some time with bronchial pneumonia. Last fall she was taken with a very severe cold, which left her with a persistent cough. She declined medical aid until about a month ago, feeling, as she expressed it, that “it was only a cold.” It began a few weeks since to develop into the severe malady from which she died. The news of her demise was a sudden surprise to her many friends, most of whom had not been informed of her serious illness, or that the end was near. The funeral was held at the M. E. church in Hastings on Monday, the services being conducted by Rev. Trott. After the services the remains were brought to this village for burial in Lakeside, and were met at the late afternoon train by a large number of her friends here. Mrs. Rowley was the daughter of C. N. Snyder of this village. She was born in Sunfield, in Dec. 1880. At the age of three years her mother died, but she spent most of her life at her father’s home until married about four years ago to Mr. Rowley. To this union has been born two bright little children to cheer and comfort the sorrowing father. The oldest of the children is a son now nearing his third year, and the youngest, a miss of only about seven months.
