He was born January 4, 1936 in Ionia County the son of Kenneth and Helen (Worden) Rowley. Jim married Betty I. Snyder September 20, 1958. Jim served as a gunners mate on many Destroyers in the U.S. Navy from 1952- 1965. Jim returned to the family farm working in farming with his father. Jim worked in mechanics and for the Ionia County Road Commission learning that position to start his own Trucking Business. He raced stock cars while stationed in Bakersfield for many years until retiring from racing in 1979. Jim was a member of Ionia Elks BPOE 548 and a life member of VFW of Sheridan Post. He loved, hunting, stock car racing, NASCAR, his tractors, all his animals and lemon meringue pie. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Betty Rowley of Ionia; children, Karen S. and Steve Reisbig of Ionia, James F. and Teresa Rowley of Ionia, Edward J. Rowley of Ionia; brothers, Richard and Sandy Rowley of Virginia, David and Linda Rowley of Edmore; grandchildren, Bethanie Mc Mahon, Melissa Mc Mahon, Nicholas Rowley, Brittany Rowley, Jacob Rowley, CJ Reisbig, Heather Reisbig and Shanda Reisbig; great grandchildren, Jackson Mc Mahon, Braydn Reisbig, Cai Reisbig, Jennika Reisbig, Tristen Reisbig and Autumn Reisbig and many brother and sister in laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Margaret Ann Lewis. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, at Easton United Methodist Church with Pastor Nancy Patera officiating. Interment Easton Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at Easton United Methodist Church immediately following graveside service. The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.
