He is survived by his wife, Clara; two brothers, Fred and Otto of Ionia; two sisters, Mrs. William Stoll and Miss Minnie Rubach of Ionia. He was born July 10, 1877, in Germany and came to Ionia 63 years ago and has lived in his present home for 26 years. He was a spindle carver by trade, but for the past five years he has been employed by the Grand Valley Chair company. Mr. Rubach was married in 1895 to Edith Ammon who died in 1907, and he married Clara Gebhart in 1910. He was a member of the St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran church. Funeral services will be held from the St. Johns church, North Jefferson street Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock following a prayer service at the home at 2 o’clock, with the Rev. R.A. Rook officiating. Interment will be at Highland Park cemetery.
