The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, February 22, 1972
Word was received in Ionia Tuesday of the death February 14 at LaJolla, 
California of Mrs. LaVerne Smith Rubin, 102.  Mrs. Rubin was an 1889 graduate 
of Ionia High School.  She made her home with her son, Louis Rubin and her 
daughter, LaVerne Rubin.  Mrs. Rubin had been blind for the past ten years.  
She is survived by two sons and two daughters and six grandchildren.  Two 
nieces and a nephew live in Ionia.
