Lake Odessa: George M. Rudd, 76, of route one, Saranac, prominent Ionia county 
farmer, died Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the Ionia County Memorial hospital 
where he had been a patient for a week.

Born July 29, 1881 in Berlin township, he was a son of Clinton and Eliza 
(Liverton) Rudd and had spent his entire life in that area. He was a member of 
the Berlin Center Methodist church and Berlin township board of review. Mr. Rudd 
retired seven years ago due to ill health. He was married to Julia Nash in 1903 
in Orange township and she preceded him in death in 1950.

Surviving are a son, Clarence of Berlin township; a granddaughter, a sister, 
Mrs. Leroy (Cassie) Stewart of Ionia.

The body will be taken to the home of his son Clarence at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 
will remain there until Monday morning at 11 o'clock. Mr. Rudd will be removed 
to the Berlin Center Methodist church where funeral service will be held at 2 
p.m. Burial will be in Highland Park Mausoleum, in Ionia. The Rev. J. Lawrence 
Ward will officiate.
