All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Patricia Currigan currigan1932@comcast.net October 10, 2022, 10:43 am Lake Odessa Wave-Thurs.December 13, 1973 Services Tuesday For Arthur Rue Arthur H.Rue, 75, of Lake Odessa passed away a few minutes before midnight Friday at the Ingham County Medical Care Facility at Okemos, following a long illness.He had been a patient at Sparrow Hospital at Landing for two weeks before being transferred to the Facility two weeks ago. He was born at Grand Haven July 16, 1898, son of Mr and Mrs Gottlieb Rue. He married Florence Narregang at Grand Haven. July 20, 1920 and they resided at Grand Haven after their marriage and he was an employee of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. while there. They later moved to Benton harbor when he was employed by the Covall Manufacturing Company, retiring from the firm in 1944. Mr and Mrs.Rue then moved to Walhalia, in northern Michigan, residing there until moving to Pompano Beach, Fla., and came to Lake Odessa 14 years ago. Mr.Rue served in the US Navy during World War I and was a member of the Lakeside Barracks No. 2161 at Lake Odessa. Surviving are his wife; a son Arthur W.of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a grandson, Gary of Lansing; a great-grandson; three sisters, Miss Marie Rue of Ionia, Miss Amanda Rue of California and Mrs.Louise Bolton of Grand Rapids. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa. Rev. Marvin Zimmerman officiating. graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Crystal Springs cemetery at Benton harbor.
