Sentinel-Standard - Thursday, Jan. 29, 1959

Prayer service was held at Stone-Kauffman funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday 
followed by funeral services at St. John Lutheran church for Martin E Ruehs, 
49, of route two , Ionia. Mr. Ruehs died Monday morning in Butterworth hospital 
at Grand Rapids. 

Organist was Carl Straub and usher were Arthur Ruback, Jack Stencel and Burton 
Stencel. The Rev. Theodore Timler officiated.

Bearers were Raymond Reister, Carl Heitman, Ted Succop, Wilbur Dreger, Ralph 
Coe and Ray Reed. Interment was in Balcom cemetery.

Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Norman Miller and George of 
Kalamazoo, Mrs. Godfrey Waldeck, Rev. and Mrs. A.P. Maruiz, Mrs. George Herman, 
Mrs. Florence Lindholm, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ruehs, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jahnke, 
Mrs. Ruth Martin and Mrs. Henrietta Fischer of Caledonia; Mr. and Mrs. Phil 
Davenport of Lowell, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Waldeck, Mr. and Mrs. Al Bergh, Judy and 
Bill and Mr. and Mrs. William Standish of Grand Rapids; Mrs. Howard Olsen and 
Roger of Greenville, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Graff of Fowler, Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. 
Rakow, Lois, Paul and Ernest of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ruehs and Gordon of 
Lansing.
