RUEHS
James E.Ruehs, age 76 of Ionia, passed away, May 17, 2021. James was born in 
Ionia on July 3, 1944. Jim graduated from Ionia High School in 1962. He also 
graduated from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana in 1965 with a 
bachelor of science in chemistry and biology.

Worked at A/C Spar Plug in Flint, MI in 1965-67. Joined the US Marine in 1967 
with a tour in Vietnam in 1969-1970. Left theMarines as a Captain. After leaving 
the Marines, worked for Ford Motor Company in Westchester, New York until 1979.
Returning to Michigan in 1979 and after 34 years in the construction industry, 
retired while working at McGraw construction. In his free time, he enjoyed 
golfing, fishing, and deer hunting.

Preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Mary Ruehs, and brother Thomas A.Ruehs.

Jim is survived by his wife Pat, nephews Justin and Jared Ruehs, step-daughter 
Windy Badder, several great-nieces and nephews, grandchildren and a great-grand 
daughter.

He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church,Missouri Synod. Visitation will 
be one hour before the service. The service will be conducted by Pastor Joe 
Fremer at 11 o'clock on Friday, May 28, 2021, at Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 
10205 Bluewater Highway, Lowell, MI. 49331. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman
