Ruehs, 85, of Ionia, passed away Friday, June 2, 2006. She was born on September 15, 1920 in Ionia the daughter of Albert L.C. and Emma (Miller) Hausserman. Mary was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Ionia and Lutheran Woman's Missionary League. She graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1938 and also taught at St. John Lutheran School from 1955-1963. Mary then worked at the Ionia County Clerk Office from 1953 until retirement in 1985. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; son, Thomas and brothers, Leonard and Herman Hausserman. Surviving are a son, Jim (Pat) Ruehs of Ionia; grandchildren Justin Ruehs, Jared (Heather) Ruehs; great grandchildren, Logan Ruehs, Bridget and R. J. Gardner; several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor David W. Bogda at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at St. John Lutheran Church, 617 N. Jefferson, Ionia. Interment will follow in Balcom Cemetery, Ionia. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, 220 Rich St., Ionia.
