                              MERL J. RUFNER

CLARKSVILLE-Merl J. Rufner. 44. of Clarksville, died Friday morning, August 23, 
at his residence.

Rufner was born Feb. 4, 1944 in Grand Rapids, the son of Merl and M. Marie 
Jebson Rufner.

He graduated from Saranac High School in 1963 and theLincoln Welding School in 
Cleveland.

Rufner married Dorothy McIver on Feb. 4, 1966 in Lowell.

He served in U.S. Army from 1966-69 during Vietnam War.

He was employed at Williams Brother, Inc. of Saranac for 12 years and for the 
past 7 months at S.Abraham of Grand Rapids.

Rufner is survived by his wife, Dorothy; four daughters,Christine,Melissa, 
Rebecca and Angela, all living at home; his mother, Marie Rufner of Clarksville; 
one sister, Mrs.Russell Elizabeth Brock of Clarksville; his father and mother-
in-law, Rev. and Mrs.Keith McIver of Saranac.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Galalee Baptist Church of 
Saranac. Burial will be in the Clarksville Cemetery.

A memorial for the Family Center of the Galalee Baptist Church has been 
established.

Friends may meet family Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 p. and 7-9 
p.. at Koops Funeral Home in Clarksville.
