Ionia Sentinel Standard, 7 Feb 1986

Bernice M. Ruid, 85, of 22 Center Street, Saranac, died Wednesday at Greenville
United Memorial Hospital.  She was born July 19, 1900, in Ionia County, the
daughter of Fred and May (Britten) Lewis.  She was a member of the Saranac
Community Church and of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She married Thomas S. Ruid on Aug. 10, 1921.  He preceded her in death in 1960.
 A son, Maurice, and daughter, Gladys, also preceded her in death.  Survivors
include a special friend, George H. Daugherty, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in
Saranac, the Rev. Allen Thomson officiating.  Burial will be in the South Boston
Cemetery.  Family and friends can visit the funeral home from 12 to 1 p.m. on
Saturday prior to the service.
