The Belding Banner, Thursday, July 25, 1968


Funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon at Huffman Funeral Home for 
Lawrence Arthur Rummel.  Rev. John E. Rumohr, Rev. Robert Lilley, and Belding 
Lodge #355 F&AM officiated.  Mr. Rummel resided at 915 Alderman St.  He died 
unexpectedly July 16 at Iron River.

Mr. Rummel was born Sept. 20, 1906 at Fallasburg, the son of George and Mary 
Rummel.  He had lived in Belding for the past 45 years.  He was employed at the 
Gibson Refrigerator Company and was a member of First Baptist Church and 
Belding Lodge #355 F&AM.

He was married to Vivian LaGoo November 29, 1935.  She survives.  Other 
survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Marvin Strom of Marion, Ohio; two sons 
Bill who lives at home, and Larry of South Haven; two sisters Mrs. Edgar (Mary) 
Oberlin of Belding and Mrs. Letha William of Grand Rapids; one brother Bernard 
of Shelby, Alabama; and two grandsons.

Interment was at River Ridge Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Dalton Rayborn, Cecil 
Williamson, Harold Fitzner, Lawrence Hansen, Alberton Gavitt, and Gerald 
Whitford.
