Owing to the condition of the man and the seriousness of the proposed operation which wold have resulted in almost instant death, Dr.Irwin thought best to have no operation. Since then Mr.Runyan had been in the hospital where he was kindly cared for as he waited for the inevitable end. Mr.Runyan was born in this township April 9, 1881 and was married last January to Miss Minnie Conklin of Ionia, who together with the deceased's mother, two brothers-Sampson and Frank-and one sister-Mrs.Walter Bovee of Grand Rapids- survive him. The remains were brought here Tuesday night and were taken to the home of Frank Runyan where the funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Mourer officiating. Burial was made in Lakeside. Mr.Runyan, it will be remembered by our readers, spent most of the winter here as salesman for sewing machines and was in the employ of G.S.Weed.
