Runyan, 79, died Saturday at his home at 1402 Virginia, Lake Odessa. Born in Lake Odessa August 29, 1891, he was the son of Frank and Margaret Cox Runyan. He was a graduate of Lake Odessa high school in 1911 and attended Michigan State agricultural college in East Lansing two years. April 28, 1917 he was married to Edna Baker. He was a life member of Lake Odessa F&AM lodge. He owned and operated a boat livery in Lake Odessa many years and also operated a TV repair business. Surviving besides his wife, Edna, are a daughter, Mrs. Richard Housler of Lansing; two sisters, Mrs. Harold Taylor of Dimondale, and Mrs. Kathryn Gardiner of Lake Odessa; brother, Clair of Torch Lake. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa. Rev. Gary Lyons of Lake Odessa Congregational church will officiate and interment will be at Lakeside cemetery.
