Apparently she had died in the night before retiring. She had spent the day at the Canning factory, as was her custom and had been seen in the yard afterwards. Mrs. Rush was born July 4, 1868 in Canada, coming to the United States in babyhood. She was married to Leslie N. Rush and two children were born, Leo who survives her and a daughter dying in infancy. She was an active, official member of the Rebekahs for many years. A member of the Daughters of the Revolution, also a member of the Methodist Aid Society where she made many friends. She is survived by one son, Leo Rush, of Lake Odessa; two sisters, Mrs. Hugh Meyers and Mrs. Rose Calkins, both of Hastings; three brothers, Edward Demaray of Sebewa; John Demaray of Lake Odessa and George Demaray of Nashville; three grandsons, Staff Sgt. Kenneth F. Rush, Pvt. Roger M. Rush and Pvt. Dallas R. Rush, all serving with the army in France; one great granddaughter, Miss Bonnie Rush, of Lake Odessa. The funeral was held Monday afternoon, after services at the home, at the First U.B. church with Rev. E. A. Shulls officiating. Mrs. Cecil Cunningham and Mrs. Lulu Mourer sang “Sunlight City” and City Foursquare,” accompanied by Mrs. James McDowell. About forty Rebekahs attended as escort. The bearers were: Ira and Robert Curtis, Clair Lambert, Dick Short, Herbert Shellenbarger and William Gavit. Burial was at Lakeside cemetery.
