Lake Odessa Wave, 19 Aug 1910

Rebecca Ann Diddy was born in the state of New York in 1829.  As her parents 
died while she was still young she was taken into the home of Mr. John Hurl who 
lived not far away, living with them till she reached womanhood; later on they 
moved to Salem Mich.  At the age of 16 she was united in marriage to Eber Rush 
they starting to keep house in Ionia Co. the following year.  To this union 
were born eight children four boys and four girls of whom the following five 
are still living: Adelia, Prollin, Mich., William, Evart, Mich., Louisa, Hale, 
Mich., Sarah, Lake Odessa and Otis, Hale, Mich.

In 1899 her husband died since which time she has lived with her daughter 
Sarah, being an almost constant care.  On the 9th of August she passed from 
this world where she had lived for 83 years, 6 months and 17 days to her 
heavenly home.

Besides the children before mentioned she leaves to mourn her loss 25 
grandchildren and as many great grandchildren, and many other relatives and 
friends.
