Lincoln Rush, 84, of Ionia died Monday at his home. He was born the son of Tom and Edith Rush on Aug. 15, 1906, in New Haven, Conn. He attended Otsego High school and Western College. He farmed in Keene Township for 26 years. He owned and operated the Beauty Spot on Main Street for 23 years. He was a member of the Advisory Counsel for the Drug Abuse Program and a member of the Task Force for the Employee Assistance Program. He was past Exalted Ruler of the Ionia Elks 548 and a member and past president of Ionia Country Club. He served two terms for the Ionia City Council representing the third ward. He is survived by his daughter Judie Rathburn of Grand Rapids; two sons, Thomas and Robert, both of Ionia; seven grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; and his brother Joseph of Otsego. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn on December 25, 1986. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church of Ionia, with the Rev. Lawrence Hodge officiating. The organist will be Marilyn Brill. Burial will be in the Saranac Cemetery. The family will be at the Cook Funeral Home in Ionia from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. A memorial has been established for the Ionia County Memorial Hospital, in care of the funeral home.
