Ionia Sentinel Standard - July 8, 2011


William Rushford age 86, of Ionia, passed away July 7, 2011 at his home.

He was born Jan. 9, 1925 in Ionia, the son of Charles and Ella (Micks) 
Rushford. William married Violet Hawley Oct. 9, 1945. She preceded him in death 
January 30, 2000. He worked at General Motors until retiring in 1985. He loved 
to play cards and garden and in the years past he hunted and farmed.

William is survived by his children, Tony Rushford of Arizona, John Rushford of 
Ionia and Joann (Dave) Witter of Ionia; grandchildren, Brian, Tanna, Antonio, 
Tina, Lacy, Jessica, Chelsea, Kayla, Billy, David, Cody, Cassidy and Chloe; 8 
great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and special cousins, Patrice 
Loucks and George Micks. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents; two daughters, Janet and Julia 
and one brother Charles.

Cremation has taken place and private services will be held at a later date.
