Ionia Sentinel Standard, Jan 2000

Violet M. Rushford, 72, of Ionia, passed away on January 30, 2000.  She was born
Dec. 24, 1927, in Odessa Township, the daughter of William and Faye (Carigon)
Hawley.  She married William Rushford on Oct. 9, 1945, in Ionia.  

He survives her in Ionia, along with sons, Antone (Gwen) Rushford of Fenwick,
John Rushford of Ionia; daughters, Julia Rushford of Ionia, Joann (David) Witter
of Ionia; sister, Evelyn Hawley of Muir; 11 grandchildren and four great
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Janet Rushford in 1980; five brothers
and two sisters.

Cremation has taken place upon her request and there will be a memorial service
held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with the Rev. Kendall
Harger officiating.  There will be a visitation on Thursday from 5:30 and 7:30
p.m. at the funeral home.
