Oct. 17, 1919 ROBINSON RUSSELL DIES AT AGE OF 76 YEARS Long a Resident of Lake Odessa. Reared a Large Family and Lived a Quiet, Peaceful Life. Robinson Russell who has been a resident of this place 31 years, died last Wednesday, Oct. 10th at his home just northeast of town. He leaves a widow, one of the twin Revolutionary daughters, and eight children. His life was a quiet one, devoted to his family. OBITUARY Robinson Russell was born in Yorkshire, England, Jan. 18, 1840, and died at his home in Lake Odessa Oct. 10, 1919, at the age of 79 years, eight mo. 22 days. Mr. Russell crossed the Atlantic at the age of 14 years and settled in Canada. He was married to Elizabeth Ann Frank of Toronto, Canada. He moved to Michigan with his family in the fall of 1882 and has resided in the house where he died for the past 31 years. He leaves to mourn and aged wife, to aged sisters, eight children, 15 grand children, five great-grandchildren and a great many friends. Mr. Russell was a faithful husband, an ideal father, a kind neighbor, and an ideal father, a kind neighbor and without a complaint. He fell asleep. But though our hearts are aching, For the loved one who is gone, We try to say with earnest prayers, “Tis well, Thy will be done.” We know he is Thine and not our own. Thou hast not done us wrong. We thank Thee for the precious gift Bestowed on us so long, And so we leave him with Thee, To judge as thou sees best, And bend ourselves unto Thy will And say, “Rest, Sweet Rest.” Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon Oct. 12, at 2 o’clock in the Liberal U.B. church, Rev. C.H. Zuse officiating. Burial in Lakeside cemetery.
