Ernest L. Russell, age 97, of Greenville, found eternal peace and passed away, 
Friday afternoon, Sept. 16, 2005 at Quality Adult Foster Care Home, Greenville. 
The son of George T. & Bessie M. (Townsend) Russell, he was born on Feb. 3, 
1908 in Ionia County. 

He had a zestful exuberance for living and an intricate knowledge, 
understanding, and appreciation of many things.  He treasured the special 
attention he received from the Ponderosa staff and his church family at the 
Greenville Church of the Nazarene. 
 
Ernie was preceded in death by his wife, Lena M. (Wells) Russell on Oct. 28, 
2001; and five sisters and brothers.  He is survived by five step-children; 
nine nieces and nephews; and many friends. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005 from the 
Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, 
with visitation one hour prior to services beginning at 2:00 p.m.  Burial is in 
Tuttle Cemetery, Ionia.  The Rev. Jerry Wells, along with Pastor Tim DeShaw of 
the Greenville Church of the Nazarene, will officiate.
