Helen Margery Russell, 92, of Greenville, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at 
Metron of Greenville.  The daughter of J.P. and Meta Hansen, she was born 
August 2, 1910 in Montcalm County. 

Helen was a graduate of Greenville High School and Western Michigan 
University.  She had taught in the Rockford Public School System.  Helen was a 
member of First United Methodist Church, Greenville. On September 18, 1937, in 
LaGrange, Indiana, she married Donald W. Russell.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Russell, on January 3, 
1987; her parents; brother, Clarence Hansen; two sisters, Mildred Hansen, 
Violent Thomsen; and niece, Mary Ellen Thomsen George. 

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Gary Parker of 
Hudsonville; four grandsons, Brian and Linda Parker, Gregory and Mindy Parker, 
all of Alto, Russell Parker, Randall and Michelle Parker, all of Allendale; and 
eight great-grandchildren, Kassy, Taryn, Lauren, Tyler, Troy, Danielle, Ashlyn 
and Emily.

In honoring Mrs. Russell’s wishes, private family services took place at Brown-
Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, Greenville, with the Rev. Dr. Harry R. 
Johnson, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Greenville, officiating.  
Burial followed in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American 
Cancer Society, 400 Ann Street NW, Suite 202, Grand Rapids, MI  49504.
