Greenville - Ronald H. Russell, 79, of Greenville, passed away Thursday
afternoon, July 18, 2002, at United Memorial Health Center, Greenville.  He was
born April 16, 1923, in Ypsilanti, the son of Elvert and Lyle Russell.

A veteran of World War II, Ron served with the U.S. Air Force and was a member
of Masonic Lodge, Belding.  For more than 30 years, he owned Russell Jewelry,
Belding, which had been located in the “old downtown” and later in the “new”
Covered Village Mall.  Ron loved traveling, camping, and was an avid snowmobiler
who lived life to the fullest.  He married the former Cora Mitchell on Nov. 29,
1946, at Greenville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvert and Lyle Russell; and a
daughter, Nancy Weger, on Dec. 12, 1993.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cora Russell of Greenville; children,
Barbara and Jim Wright and Cynthia Treynor, all of Belding, five grandchildren,
Yvette Reece of Lake Orion, Shannon and Richard Reeves of Belding, Eric and Kris
Weger of Defiance, Ohio, Courtney and Joe Crittendon of Kentwood and Jessica
Treynor and Howard Cook of Belding; four great-grandchildren; two sisters and
brother-in-law, Thelma and Sam Cooley of Greenville and Mary Lou Grunwell of
California; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral
Home, Greenville, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger, pastor of Shiloh Community
Church, officiating.  Burial will be in West Montcalm Cemetery.  Envelopes for
memorial contributions are available at the funeral home, where the family will
receive relatives and friends this evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
