Newell Russell, 79, died Sunday at the home of his son, William at Romulus 
following surgery at Ford hospital.  He was born in Keene township and lived in 
this locality as a farmer on R. 2 until he retired and went to Pewamo to live.

He married Myrtie Barclay on February 27, 1895, and she and the one son 
survive.  There are two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was a member of the Masonic lodge at Pewamo and fellow members conducted the 
graveside service at Green cemetery Wednesday.  Rev. Lester Clough officiated 
at the funeral service at the Fitzjohn Funeral Home at 2:30 and pallbearers 
were chosen from the Masonic order.
